OCBC's Sheppard improves to 26th spot
Eric Sheppard was once again the OCBC Singapore Pro Cycling Team's best performer at the Herald Sun Tour in Australia yesterday.
The Australian clocked 4:06:17 to finish 27th in the 163km-long Stage 2 to climb nine spots up the general classification (GC) standings into 26th.
The result also puts Sheppard 1:36 behind new race leader Simon Clarke, who won Stage 2 in 4:05:01, on the GC.
Singaporean Low Ji Wen was Team OCBC's second-best rider in 66th spot while teammates Rico Rogers and Thomas Rabou were placed 71st and 84th respectively.
The OCBC cyclists will race in the 156.1km Stage 3 without Cameron Bayly and Ronald Yeung, who dropped out after failing to meet Stage 2's cut-off time.
