SportSG urges public to exercise at home for now

Exercising should be done at home for now.

Sport Singapore made the announcement last night, following the tightening of Covid-19 control measures and extension of the circuit breaker period to June 1.

Members of the public are urged to exercise at home to help further prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the community.

They can go to websites such as https://circle.myactivesg.com/circuit-breaker to access virtual classes and activities from home.

While it's not encouraged, individuals may leave home to walk, run, cycle or engage in other similar exercises, but they should do it alone and only in their immediate neighbourhoods.

While exercising outdoors alone, members of the public are required to wear masks, except when they are doing strenuous exercises such as jogging, cycling, brisk walking, walking on hilly terrain, or doing static exercises for warm-up, strength and flexibility.

However, they should put on their masks after they have completed their exercises. Masks must also be donned if they are walking or strolling leisurely.

Safe distancing must be observed at all times, and there should not be any gatherings.

Individuals should return home immediately once they are done with their exercises.
