Singapore finish second and third in girls' Masters final
Singapore ended with a flourish when Iliya Syamim won the girls' Masters silver and Daphne Oh added the bronze in the Asian schools bowling championships in Jakarta yesterday.
Iliya beat Daphne 248-192 pinfalls in the step-ladder match to join Japan's Ishimoto Mirai in the step-ladder final.
But Iliya had to settle for the silver after losing 236-242 to Mirai.
The boys' Masters title also went to a Japanese, Nakano Katsuhito, who edged out Australia's Adam Svensson by a single pinfall, 268-267.
Singapore's sole boys' Masters finalist, Darren Ong, finished 10th.
The Singapore team ended with two gold, one silver and four bronze medals, all won by the girls.
