Sahil sees red

(Sahil Suhaimi 39, 65, Jordan Webb 44)

Not even Sahil Suhaimi's silly red card for retaliation and a near-brawl could take the gloss off Courts Young Lions' brilliant 3-0 away win over Hougang United yesterday.

The 21-year-old scored in his third consecutive match in the 39th minute before Jordan Webb added another five minutes later.

Sahil then weaved past three Hougang players to slot past Fadhil Salim in the 65th minute, before being sent off after clashing with Igor Cerina 15 minutes later. The mercurial striker with four goals in three games will now serve a two-match suspension.

While a brawl was narrowly averted, Hougang's Fazli Jaffar was also dismissed as the Young Lions collected their first clean sheet following a solid defensive display led by goalkeeper Syazwan Buhari.

Young Lions coach Aide Iskandar said: "We've always had the belief, but it was a matter of reducing the mistakes in defence. In terms of team spirit, this was our best match and I'm very proud of the boys.
