Straleta shows pace in testing gallop

Last-start winner Straleta showed further headway in her workout at Sungei Besi yesterday and looks ready for a back-to-back win in the Metro C, a set-weight event over 1,200m at the Selangor Turf Club's one-day March meeting on Sunday.

Taken out by a track rider, the six-year-old Australian mare by Stratum warmed up in the sand ring before running the final 600m in 43.9sec. The going was good.

Straleta, who arrived in November 2012 with two wins, four seconds and two thirds in 13 outings in Australia, has already scored twice and finished third once in six outings. She went two up when he beat Noble Four in the Wilayah Silver Bowl for Class 3 horses over 1,200m in good going in Kuala Lumpur earlier this month.
