Thailand retain football gold
Thailand won their second consecutive football gold medal at the South-east Asia (SEA) Games with a convincing 3-0 win over Myanmar at the National Stadium on Monday.
Myanmar entered the match as massive underdogs, and they decided to defend deep and look to hit on the break against a talented Thai side.
But Tanaboon Kesarat finally opened the scoring in the 53rd minute, lashing home from just inside the box after a poor clearance by Myanmar.
Chananan Pombubpha then doubled the lead, slotting into the net with only the goalkeeper to beat.
Pinyo Inpinit then signed, sealed and delivered the War Elephants’ 15th SEA Games gold in the 78th minute.
