Canadian singer tops iTunes chart and it's not Bieber
He spent years working on his Vinebox (his personal channel). The 15-year-old singer-songwriter is famed for uploading clips of his falsetto.
And to date, Shawn Mendes has garnered 2.9 million followers on the short-clip sharing platform.
If that's not worth the work, then this definitely would be.
The Toronto-based singer took the No 1 spot on iTunes with his debut EP, The Shawn Mendes EP, just 37 minutes after its release on Sunday (July 27) reported Mail Online.
His debut single, Life of the Party, has already garnered 2.6 million views on YouTube, most of which came after Sunday's EP release.
Perhaps most of his fans on Vine helped with the rapid success of his four-song production, after he announced the news via a Vine clip.
Immediately, most of his 1.47 million followers on Twitter unleashed a stampede of tweets that simply wrote "#shawntonumber1".
Watch out Bieber! It looks like the music world has a brand new Canadian heartthrob.
