Devoted Kim Soo Hyun fan buys full-page advertisement to show support

Queueing all night to get the best seats and rallying others to vote online is par for the course for fans of Korean stars.

But a rich fan in Hong Kong took it one step further.

The wife of a business tycoon took out a full-page advertisement in a Korean daily newspaper to show her support for actor Kim Soo Hyun, the star of My Love From The Star, reported Inside Korea. 

The advertisement, which was in Korean and English, stated: "Dear Soo-hyun, love and support you forever! I wish Soo-hyun get awards on the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards. Cecilia."

It was published on Monday and cost around 40 million won (S$49,000), according to The Korea Herald.

The 27-year-old actor was nominated in four acting categories of the event, which was held in Seoul today.

Give strength

"Cecilia wanted to run the ad to give strength to Kim Soo Hyun," an official from the Chosun Ilbo newspaper was quoted as saying.

The actor's management agency KeyEast said: "As I know, a Chinese fan posted the ad. Even for us, it is amazing to see (what she did for Kim)."
