Lindsay Lohan's mum loses licence for drink-driving
Oops, like daughter, like mother?
Dina Lohan, mother of "Lindsay" star Lindsay Lohan, avoided getting jailed on Tuesday for drink-driving.
But she had her driver's licence suspended for a year and was fined US$2,500 (S$3,140).
The 51-year-old’s sentence includes a requirement that she install an alcohol-detecting ignition lock on her vehicle, reports Time.com.
"Fortunately, you didn't kill anybody, you didn't kill yourself," Long Island Judge Andrew Engel told Lohan senior at the sentencing, according to Newsday.
Next time, "you may not be so fortunate", he warned.
Substance abuse
Her daughter has had her own history of substance-abuse problems and pleaded guilty to drink-driving in 2007.
She has been in and out of drug rehab.
Meanwhile, the Mean Girls actress is planning to move to London with a source telling The Sun: "Lindsay's really enjoying being in the UK and has told her pals that she's staying here for good. Lindsay has also started investigating getting acting work in London."
