Coldplay hits Sydney streets for new music video

Way to make us excited for the Coldplay tour, Chris Martin!

The Coldplay frontman and his band members turned the streets of Sydney into a travelling music festival for their new music video for the single A Sky Full of Stars.

According to Australian site Music Feeds, Martin, 37, surprised shoppers in the Newtown area in a one-man-band outfit - drum strapped to back, guitar in hand, and an assortment of other musical instruments attached - before joining his similarly dressed bandmates for an acoustic performance of the song. 

The video premiered just two days after it was filmed. The band was in Sydney to perform at the Enmore Theatre on Wednesday. 

Their latest hit is a collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii.
