Janet Jackson turns 48!

 

We've seen Janet Jackson grow in the limelight from yonks ago. 

Let's take a walk down memory lane and take a look at how her fashion sense has changed since 1983.

 

1983: At 17, Janet Jackson photographed in a classy retro pink suit. 

 

1985: The young star attended the American Music Awards (AMA) with then-husband James DeBarge in matching prom-inspired outfits

 

1986: This was Janet after she released her third album Control. She changed up her look with just one constant - she rocked her unique hoop earring but this time, with the key attached.

 

1990: 24 years ago, Janet Jackson was honoured on the Hollywood Walk of Fame wearing her famed Rhythm Nation outfit. 

1993: Rocking thick braids and a full white pantsuit to support brother Michael Jackson at the Grammys.

 

1997: The singer steps out with one of her other ex-husbands René Elizondo with bright red curls and a racy black see-through top.

 

2002: She got bolder after the Millennium showing off her rock-hard abs and flaunting that Janet cleavage.

 

2006: She steps out with a more mature look dressed in a respectable elegant red gown and tied up hair.

 

2009: Janet stunned in a royal blue Versace gown with a plunging neckline.

 

2013: The singer goes back to her braids but, this time it's Auburn as she poses with husband Wissam al Mana in platform boots.
