Finally, anyone in the US can buy Google Glass
So Google Glass still isn't available here, but at least it is finally out on the market somewhere.
A post last night on its Google+ page stated: "We’re still in the Explorer Program while we continue to improve our hardware and software, but starting today anyone in the US can buy the Glass Explorer Edition, as long as we have it on hand."
The first Glass prototype in 2011 weighed 3.6kg, according to The Telegraph. The current model is as light as sunglasses.
Just last month, Google held a one-day sale allowing anyone in the US to buy the device, which was created by Google X, the search giant's experimental division. Before that, potential customers required an invite or a referral from a friend to get their hands on Glass.
But there's a catch. It's going for a whooping US$1,500 (S$1,870) and the device is merely in the beta-testing stage.
Would you pay so much for an incomplete product?
