Mum of AirAsia steward says he was not supposed to fly the day QZ8501 crashed
More victims from the crash of AirAsia flight QZ8501 have been identified today (Jan 4).
One has been identified as AirAsia steward Wismoyo Ari Prambudi, 24, from Klaten, Central Java.
According to Detik.com, his body was identified through dental records and fingerprints.
In media reports earlier this week, his cousin said he was not meant to fly on that fateful Sunday.
She was told by Wismoyo's mother that he was supposed to be off that day.
"There was no chance to say goodbye. He had never flown to Singapore, he usually flies to Thailand and Jakarta," Miss Erna Retnowati told Metro TV last Monday (Dec 29). "Perhaps he had swopped shifts with a colleague."
The family only found out that Wismoyo was on the ill-fated flight when they were watching news coverage on TV.
"Someone read out his name, that was when I realised it was Wismoyo," said Miss Erna.
