Unsmiling for 40 years just to keep those wrinkles away
If all it takes is not smiling to have a youthful face till I'm old, then I'm gonna be trying that now and chucking all my night creams away.
I'll learn all that I have to from Tyra Banks and smile with my eyes.
Brit Tess Christian, 50, has gone without a smile or a laugh for 40 years.
It's not because she's miserable but becaause she does not want wrinkles on her face.
She has not smiled since she was 10.
And it all boils down to discipline.
She has practised and perfected the art of being expressionless when she's with friends and even when she was basking in joy during her daughter's birth.
Her belief? That this is the only way to maintain her youthful visage.
Tess Christian has trained herself to not smile no matter what the circumstance.
She told the Daily Mail:"I don’t have wrinkles because I have trained myself to control my facial muscles. Everyone asks if I’ve had Botox, but I haven’t, and I know that it’s thanks to the fact I haven’t laughed or smiled since I was a teenager. My dedication has paid off, I don’t have a single line on my face."
The divorced mother of one added: "Yes, I am vain and want to remain youthful. My strategy is more natural than Botox and more effective than any expensive beauty cream or facial."
Call her crazy but she isn't the only person who refrains from smiling, frowning or expressing any kind of emotion as a Botox substitute.
Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, 34, have also admitted to trying not to smile or laugh "because it causes wrinkles".
According to the Daily Mail, some skin experts say that this neat trick actually works.
Dermatologist Nick Lowe said:"It can be an effective anti-ageing technique. Undoubtedly, there are some actresses who have retrained their facial expressions to this end. Wrinkles happen because of the constant creasing of smile and forehead lines by the muscles in your face, which fold the connective tissue under the skin. If you can train yourself to minimise your facial expressions, you won’t get as many lines."

Ms Christian, who insists she isn't miserable but instead loves life, said she stumbled upon this anti-ageing technique when she attended a strict religious school in her youth.
"The joyless nuns there didn’t like children to smile. I was always told to wipe the smile off my face so I learnt to smirk instead."
Her friends, daughter and ex-husband have apparently also never had an issue with her lack of smiles.
"I am engaging company. If you spent a day in my presence, you wouldn’t even notice."
