Fashion police queen Joan Rivers walks out during CNN interview
Fashion police queen can't always take the heat when it's turned on her.
During a CNN interview, Joan Rivers walked out.
Rivers was on the CNN show with Fredricka Whitfield to promote her new book, Diary of a Mad Diva.
The show's host, Whitfield, commented that Rivers' comments on her Fashion Police show were sometimes "mean", which appeared to be the beginning of Rivers' annoyance leading up to her walk-out.
Rivers', 81, responded: "It's not mean. I tell the truth."
She added that what she says is what people and their friends would say too. What's more, Rivers' added, her comments on Fashion Police aren't about the personalities but about their clothing.
Then, when asked about whether she felt there were topics that should be "off-limits" and if there should be boundaries around what she jokes about, she really took offense.
Rivers said: "Life is very tough and if you can make a joke to something easier and funny, do it."
It gets better. The straw the broke the camels back was when Whitfield asked about the fur coat Rivers' wears on the cover of her book, insinuating that Rivers' must have expected backlash from animal rights activists.
Rivers' hit back, calling it a "defensive interview" and challenged Whitfield, asking if she was wearing leather shoes and telling the host to "shut-up".
Shortly after, Rivers storms off the set but not before telling Whitman: "You're not the one to interview a person who does humour. Sorry."
