Parents take time off work for child's first day of school

She took three days leave from work.
But Madam Angela Lim, a patient service assistant, did not take leave to extend the long New Year weekend.
The 32-year-old took leave because she wanted to make sure her two-year-old son Jarius would be all right during his first few days in pre-nursery class.
"I was worried he would cry and scream because he may not be used to it," she said.
She and several other parents were outside the PCF Care Services centre at Toa Payoh North on the first day of the school year, making sure their young children would be able to adjust to their new routine away from them.
