New opposition party PPP to contest Chua Chu Kang GRC?
The newest political party on the block, People's Power Party (PPP), wants to contest Chua Chu Kang GRC in the coming polls.
Veteran opposition politican Goh Meng Seng, who is the secretary-general of PPP, announced this during a walkabout at Lot 1 shopping mall this morning (Aug 2).
Mr Goh, 45, told TNP the decision to contest in Chua Chu Kang was made as they "want all the good people can go into Parliament".
Chua Chu Kang GRC has been redrawn from a five-MP to a four-MP GRC. It is currently led by Health Minister Gan Kim Yong.
Mr Goh had contested previous elections under The Workers' Party (2006) and National Solidarity Party (2011).
Pressed on PPP's members and potential slate of candidates, Mr Goh said the party would disclose more details in good time.
