Case gives BreadTalk a stern warning
BreadTalk has been issued a strongly-worded warning by the Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) on Thursday (Aug 6).
The consumer protection group issued the warning in light of pictures which were shared online that showed a BreadTalk employee pouring a carton of Yeo's soya bean milk into bottles that were marked "freshly prepared".

Case warned BreadTalk that its action were against the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (CPFTA), reported The Straits Times.
Case stated that under this act, BreadTalk's actions constitutes an unfair practice.
Case executive director Seah Seng Choon said in the letter: "By indicating the words 'freshly prepared' on the bottles, consumers may reasonably be deceived or misled to believe that the soya bean milk was freshly brewed in-house and therefore commands a higher value than Yeo's pre-packed soya bean milk.
"Under the CPFTA, a court may award the consumer damages in the amount of any loss or damage suffered by the consumer as a result of the said unfair practice."
"The questionable practice by BreadTalk is unacceptable," Case executive director Seah Seng Choon.
After the photo went viral, BreadTalk issued a statement on their Facebook page on Aug 3 to confirm that the bottled soya bean drinks were from Yeo's.
They also apologised for any "misaligned presentation or wrong impressions created" and that their "intention was never to mislead".
After the letter was issued, The Straits Times reported that they were unable to contact the BreadTalk Group for comment.
