World Cup holders Spain forced to make third kit for Holland clash
The World Cup might be just under two weeks away, but that hasn't stopped Fifa from asking Spain to make a third kit.
The reason? They feel that the reigning champions' existing kits - red and black - are too similar to their opening opponents Holland, who have orange and blue kits.
Spain's kitmaker Adidas confirmed the Fifa directive, saying they had "expressly mandated" a third kit in white for La Roja.
The decision does seem a little odd, given that Spain wore a dark blue kit when they faced an orange-clad Holland in the 2010 final.
According to the Mail Online and Eurosport, nations are required to have two kits - one light and one dark - for the World Cup.
Despite the last minute instruction, it looks like Adidas have already churned out a white shirt for Spain in this screen grab taken from Inside Spanish Football.
