Lady Gaga and Kinney on break
Are they taking a break? Or has the romance gone bad?
Thankfully, according to Lady Gaga's representative, it is the former, despite reports about the US pop star and her US actor-boyfriend Taylor Kinney calling off their engagement.
The 30-year-old singer confirmed it on her Instagram, penning a heartfelt message to her followers yesterday.
Calling themselves "just like any couple who have ups and downs", Gaga blamed their busy work schedules for the time out.
"We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared," she wrote.
"Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other."
The couple's romance started in 2011 after they met on the set of her music video for You And I.
Kinney, 35, proposed on Valentine's Day last year with a heart-shaped diamond ring.
Gomez is social media's most influential user
She is already the most followed person on Instagram, as well as the one with the most liked single photo on the social media platform.
Now, Selena Gomez earns a new title - the most influential social media influencer worldwide.
According to data company D'Marie Analytics, the 23-year-old US singer is the queen of personal branding, and her social media posts are worth an estimated US$550,000 (S$746,000) each when they appear across Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
Her posts were valued only at US$200,000 last December, reported Adweek.
The top seven influencers on D'Marie's ranking are all women, including Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Rihanna, Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus.
Jones quits Twitter after online abuse
Ghostbusters actress Leslie Jones has been so badly affected by Twitter trolls that she quit the social media platform.
The 48-year-old African-American comedienne was a target of racist abuse for months after she was cast as part of the titular quartet in director Paul Feig's remake of the 1984 classic.
The cyber-bullying became so bad that Jones pleaded with Twitter to help stop the abuse.
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey promptly stepped in, asking her to message him directly.
The company later tweeted a statement, making a stand that it would not tolerate abusive behaviour.
"We've taken action on many of the accounts reported to us by both Leslie and others," it read.
"We rely on people to report this type of behaviour to us, but we are continuing to invest heavily in improving our tools and enforcement systems to prevent this kind of abuse. We realise we still have a lot of work in front of us before Twitter is where it should be on how we handle these issues."
Dress sells out after Trump flaunts it
Is Melania Trump, the wife of US presidential candidate Donald Trump, set to become the new Kate Middleton?
The 46-year-old Slovenian designer and former model scored a major fashion coup at the Republican National Convention on Monday night.
Her US$2,190 ($2,975) Roksanda Ilincic white dress was such a hit that it was sold out on Net-a-Porter within an hour of the convention.
Mrs Trump bought it off the online designer fashion site herself, and paired it with a pair of Christian Louboutin heels without the assistance of a stylist.
There are still so many movies made starring 50 men and one woman! A white male actor should never be allowed to complain about anything. Shut up and sit in the corner.
