A dying dog's beautiful last day

This story is going to pull at your heart strings.

Duke Roberts, a black labrador retriever from Houston, Texas, was due to be euthanised on July 7 by owner Jordan Roberts.

He had one tumour on his leg, which had been removed, and a second tumour had started growing on his shoulder. 

Roberts had adopted Duke after watching an adoption video. 

Photographer Robyn Arouty, a friend of Roberts', came by on Duke's last day to support her friend, and ended up snapping special moments of Duke.

The result? A series of beautiful photographs that have since gone viral.

The day started off with the family giving Duke some of his favourite treats and then bringing him out to the water park and the park where he played and had a ball of a time, before he was finally euthanised in the park with everyone who loved him.
