Tame your mane
Frequent trips to the salon can damage your hair, but these products will revive your locks
ORIGINAL & MINERAL (O&M) MINI FRIZZY LOGIC SHINE SERUM
$15
Unlike some serums, my hair does not feel oily or heavy with this one.
While it works fine for straight hair, I notice that it worked better for a friend who has thick and curly hair. After several uses, her locks look silkier and have an added bounce.
The manufacturer claims the fruity-smelling product comprises cold-pressed certified organic argan oil and macadamia oil - which help calm the hair, protect it from humidity and give it a lustrous feel.
There are two ways to use this - apply a few drops before or after blow-drying.
Available at all Sephora stores.
TONI & GUY HAIR MEET WARDROBE CLASSIC SHINE GLOSS SERUM
$22.90
We all hate dull and frizzy hair and this serum can work miracles for that problem.
It also works as the perfect finishing product when doing up a chic hairstyle.
The directions on this 30ml bottle say the serum should be used specifically on dry hair.
Just rub two pumps of the serum between your palms before running your fingers through the lengths of your hair and finishing off at the ends - where your hair is the driest.
If all you need is something to help tame frizz, then this is worth keeping in your stash.
Available at selected Watson stores.

This YouTube user has come up with a hair mask concoction comprising ingredients such as raw honey, olive oil, natural coconut milk and vitamin E gel capsules.
She mixes everything together to create a liquid formula hair mask. She applies it to the lengths and the ends of her hair using a hair dye brush, and then rubs it in with her hands.
Next, she uses a cotton pad to apply the mask to the roots of her hair and gently massages it in.
After an hour, she washes it off with shampoo and conditioner. The results are amazing.

This YouTube user swears by the ApHogee Two-Step Protein Treatment to salvage her damaged hair.
It works best when you wet your hair before applying the product all over. You also have to do it quickly before it sets into your hair and becomes sticky, she says.
When your hair feels stiff, that's your cue to wash the product off.
You will notice a big difference in the condition of your hair immediately - especially if it has been bleached.
She also stresses that it is important not to shower with hot water because it can further damage your hair.
