Smart lighter to help smokers quit
Smartphone. Smart TV. Smart car. Now, smart lighter.
Called Quitbit, the lighter functions much like fitness trackers to track users' smoking habits from how many cigarettes they've had, how long since their last puff and can help you keep on course if you're planning to quit.
Oh, and of course, it's an actual lighter. That's how it tracks all your light-ups.
Much like the heating coil in cars, the Quitbit uses a similar technology to light cigarettes. And its tracking ability uses similar concepts as those found in fitness trackers.
Seriously speaking, this smoking tracker isn't going to help you quit. But, the hope is at least it's supposed to help facilitate the process. Wouldn't it be good to also include a price scanner so it can track how much smokers' spend on cigarettes? That might shock them into quitting.
