One Big Happy Family Again?

The cast of action flick Fast 8 shared a photo and message on Facebook last week as filming wrapped on the latest instalment of The Fast And The Furious franchise, putting to bed the alleged Vin Diesel-Dwayne Johnson online feud.

The production team wrote: "For our final #FastFridays post, all of us in the Fast Family wanted to thank you for coming on the ride with us during this epic production."

The drama started when Johnson, 44, had called out unnamed male co-stars for being unprofessional on social media.

Many believed he was referring to Diesel, 49.


CAVILL TEASES NEW SUPERMAN SUIT

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice star Henry Cavill, 33, shared a photo of what seems to be black armour on Instagram with the caption "#Superman" on Monday.

Many believe it to be a close-up of an updated costume for the Man of Steel.

Superman, who appeared to be have been killed in Batman V Superman, is slated to be in the Justice League film in 2017.

The dark suit first appeared in The Death and Return of Superman comics, which ran in the 1990s.

In the comics, Superman died and was resurrected, changing him. He wore the black suit as it could absorb the sunlight he needed to regain his strength.


PASSION FOR MARTIAL ARTS INSPIRED NEW FILM

Hong Kong director Benny Chan said his love for martial arts inspired his latest movie Call Of Heroes.

The Hong Kong martial arts action flick - which stars Sean Lau, Louis Koo and Eddie Peng - is set in a civil war-ridden China.

It is about a group of villagers attempting to deliver justice and end the tyrannical reign of a cruel young warlord.

It opens here tomorrow and is rated NC16.

The 54-year-old film-maker said at a press conference in Beijing: "As a child, I always hid inside a blanket and used a flashlight (at night) to read martial arts books by Louis Cha."

Chan said he wanted to create a film that would describe how justice can be implemented despite the difficulties of upholding it.


JUDD ENTERS DOCTORAL PROGRAMME

US actress Ashley Judd, 48, is going back to school.

In a Q&A session on Facebook Live on Monday, Judd announced she has enrolled in University of California, Berkeley's public policy PhD programme.

The highly competitive programme, which starts this fall, only admits two or three candidates each year.

She has a bachelor's in French from the University of Kentucky and a master's in public administration, with a focus on gender equality, from Harvard.

She was ready to "do some good thinking, some rigorous research... and see how I can continue to do my little part to make the world a better place".


BELLA THORNE AND GREGG SULKIN BREAK UP

US actress Bella Thorne has split from her English actor-boyfriend Gregg Sulkin after a one-year romance, citing their busy schedules as the main reason.

The 18-year-old starlet tweeted on Monday: "Things just didn't end up working the way we had hoped. But I'll always love the bub."

Thorne and Sulkin, 24, hooked up last June after he supported Thorne at the Los Angeles premiere of her MTV series Scream.
