Jolin Tsai excites at 3-hr concert
Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai enthralls fans, not leaving out lesbian-themed song banned on local airwaves
Her lesbian-themed song - We're All Different, Yet The Same - was banned from Singapore airwaves in May.
But Taiwanese Mandopop queen Jolin Tsai didn't shy away from performing it during her 2015 Play World Tour at the Singapore Indoor Stadium last night.
She kept her fans waiting and sang it only near the end of her three-hour gig.
Some 8,000 fans broke into loud cheers when the sexy 34-year-old star started to sing the ballad.
One of them, Ms Jacqueline Tan, 30, said: "I like all of Jolin's slow songs. They are very touching and I can relate to them. I always sing them during karaoke.
"I've been listening to We're All Different, Yet The Same recently as I find it very meaningful."
Tsai, who is also known as Asia's Dancing Queen, kickstarted her high-energy gig at 8.20pm with fast track Medusa, wearing an elaborate headgear full of floating "snakes".
She then blazed through a series of her signature dance hits including Real Man, Honey Trap and Agent J.
She spared no effort, going all out in multiple sexy, over-the-top costumes with provocative dance moves and large stage props, including a glittering skull from which she emerged during party hit I'm Not Yours.
She dished out what looked to be fiendishly difficult but well-rehearsed dance moves through one fast song after another without showing any sign of fatigue.
But it was clear her fans had come for the slow songs as they screamed the loudest during the ballads segment.
Tsai showed off her singing prowess as she belted out several touching KTV favourites such as Rewind, The Smell Of Lemongrass, I Know You Are Feeling Blue and Sky with impressive soaring vocals.

SANG ALONG
Fans waved their pink lightsticks in unison and sang along to every word.
Tsai made it a point to walk to all four corners of the stage, set in the middle of the stadium, to interact with fans.
The atmosphere was brought to a stratospheric high during her chart-topping hits Dancing Diva and 72 Changes, as everyone jumped and danced along to the beats.
The gig ended with a bang as the A-lister went offstage to pick lucky fans to sing hand in hand with her.
Another fan, Mr Nelson Lim, 29, said: "Even though I wasn't picked to go onstage, I really enjoyed the concert. Jolin is amazing, she can dance and sing so well.
"She also treats all her fans very well and you can tell that she was genuinely very nice to them onstage. I love her."
