Taylor Swift's latest boyfriend Calvin Harris is Glamour UK's newly-minted Man of the Year
DJ-producer Calvin Harris crowned Man of the Year at Glamour Awards
When it comes to Scottish DJ-producer Calvin Harris, it has been one surprising revelation after another.
The 31-year-old set the Internet abuzz last month at the Billboard Music Awards when he and US pop star Taylor Swift made their official public debut as a couple.
Now he has been crowned Man of the Year at Glamourmagazine's Women of the Year Awards, which took place on Tuesday night in London.
Other winners included Entrepreneur of the Year Kate Hudson, Cointreau Solo Artist Ellie Goulding and Comedy Actress of the Year Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting.
Previous Man of the Year recipients include British actors Sam Claflin, Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Hiddleston.
Harris echoed our thoughts when he called the award "unexpected" on Instagram, but to his credit, he has had a whirlwind past 12 months in his 13-year career.
In his acceptance speech, he joked that his mother would have been "so proud to have birthed a man of the year" and that as the sole male winner "it (was his) responsibility... for (his) speech to be a bit s***".
So why is he the man of the moment? Here are five possible reasons.
HIS GIRLFRIEND
"You are who you date" should really be a thing.
The ultra-successful Swift, 25, snagged the Billboard Woman of the Year honour last year.
And now Harris can show off his own Man of the Year award.
The pair were first spotted flirting at the Brit Awards in February.
Harris' love life has been in the spotlight even before his latest hook-up, thanks to his acrimonious break-up with English singer Rita Ora last year.
Luckily for him, he avoided an awkward run-in with his ex at the Glamour UK event. She had been awarded the TV Personality of the Year gong but was absent as she was in Asia for work.
HIS BOD
Can you blame anyone for taking notice? Or for letting their eyes stray southwards?
The 1.96m-tall hottie left little to the imagination when he stripped down to his briefs for a recent Emporio Armani underwear campaign.
Two things caught people's attention - his sizeable package, and rock-solid abs.
It is hard to believe that just years ago, he had an awful haircut, bad teeth and a penchant for graphic T-shirts.
HIS AWARDS
Thank heavens he is not just a pretty face (or a dumb blond).
Harris is the reigning king when it comes to writing EDM-infused pop hits for anyone - including Gwen Stefani, Kylie Minogue and Haim - and has a bag of awards to show for it.
He took home the Top Dance/Electronic Artist honour at this year's Billboard Music Awards, where coincidentally, his squeeze Swift was the night's biggest winner with eight trophies.
Last year, the Grammy-winning artist - he shares the Best Short Form Music Video honour with Rihanna for We Found Love in 2013 - took home the Favourite EDM Artist title at the American Music Awards.
HIS HITS
Harris, who released his chart-topping fourth album Motion last year, shot to fame when he was featured on Rihanna's explosive 2011 hit We Found Love.
His own tracks like I Need Your Love (featuring English pop singer Ellie Goulding), Feel So Close and Summer - Spotify's 2014 International Song of the Summer - have also found commercial success.
In October last year, he was the first artist in history to have three songs - Outside (featuring Goulding), Blame (featuring English singer John Newman) and Summer - on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Songs chart simultaneously.
While little has been revealed about his upcoming projects, a possible music collaboration with Swift is brewing, at least according to an OK! magazine insider.
HIS WEALTH
Just over a decade ago, he was a scruffy-looking regular Joe named Adam Richard Wiles earning his keep at a Scottish grocery chain, shelving food items.
Last year, he raked in a massive US$66 million (S$89 million) in earnings and occupied the throne for the second year running as the world's highest-paid DJ.
It's hard to believe but he has made even more than Swift, who earned US$64 million.
He also jumped 47 spots to rank No 21 on Forbes' list of the most powerful celebrities in the world, just behind Kanye West and ahead of One Direction, Jennifer Lopez and Paul McCartney.
