Must-see MVs
From fairy tales to picturesque Iceland, these music videos are worth spending time on
CARLY RAE JEPSEN
YOUR TYPE
Everyone loves a Cinderella story and its good ol' rags-to-riches fantasy.
Canadian singer Jepsen deconstructs the fairy tale in her new video, playing an ordinary girl stuck in a miserable job whose only solace is singing in an empty karaoke hall and imagining herself as a superstar with adoring fans.
In reality, of course, Jepsen, best known for pop ditties Call Me Maybe and I Really Like You, has no lack of fame. She is fantastic here, playing the down-and-out protagonist with just the right amount of pathos.
JUSTIN BIEBER
I'LL SHOW YOU
I've never been to Iceland, but thanks to Canadian pop star Bieber's new MV, my desire to visit the Nordic country has multiplied tenfold.
I'll Show You, shot in southern Iceland, features stunning, picturesque scenery and gorgeous waterfalls. The Biebs skateboards on a highway, scampers across lush green landscapes, rolls down a hill and even jumps into a glacier lake wearing white undies.
ARIANA GRANDE
FOCUS
We all knew it was a matter of time before US pop princess Grande fully embraced her sexy, sultry side.
Focus is what fans have been waiting for: A slick visual piece that allows Grande to show off her lithe body and slinky moves.
Looking dazzling with platinum blonde locks, the video, bathed in purple tints, features the former Nickelodeon TV star grooving, clapping and taking selfies with her bevy of dancers.
