Blockhead? Man tries Lego-style hair to woo girl
The single man was keen to impress a 23-year-old woman and wanted to catch her eye.
So Mr Wu Lei, 54, went to the hairstylist and asked for a short back and sides that would help him stand out, reported Daily Mail.
The Taiwanese got his wish when his perfectly right-angled, flat top hairstyle became a hit with the local media.
But it turned out the woman, Ms Ling Lin, did not have the hots for the fancy hairdo.
"My friends call him blockhead."
"I can imagine he might have found someone as he had a good and respectable job as a medical laboratory scientist. But he should act his age."
The young woman said the hairdo had made her even more unlikely to respect him as he looked like a Lego figure or character from the video game Warcraft, reported The Mirror.
Still single
Mr Wu needs to use up two cans of gel and spends two hours doing his hair.
He can only comb it every 15 days to get rid of dead hair.
Despite the local attention, Mr Wu remains single, a fact that confuses him.
"I can't understand it. I make an attractive monthly income of 70,000 Taiwanese Dollars (S$2,920)."
"I adopted this hairstyle because I wanted to look like a guy in his 20s or 30s to attract the girl who rejected me. Or in fact any girl."
