Diamond the size of earth found in space
Even a 100 carat diamond would pale in the presence of this gem.
Out in the cold depths of space, a diamond the size of earth has been discovered.
This white dwarf star is said to be 11 billion years old.
The star is so cold that its carbon has crystallised, turning it into a gem so greatly prized here on Earth.
Sadly, this diamond will be out of our reach forever.
One can only imagine how much it would fetch if put on the market.
Guardian reported that a 100-carat yellow diamond (picture below) sold for 14.5 million Swiss francs (S$20.3m) to a private buyer in a Geneva jewellery sale last month.
Whatever the price, it'll not be within our paycheck.
