Ferguson shooting: Protesters take to the streets all over US
Protests continue to take place in Ferguson, following a grand jury decision to not to indict a white policeman who shot an unarmed black teenager in August.
People took to the streets after it was announced on Monday (Tuesday Singapore time) that police officer Darren Wilson will face no charges for fatally shooting Michael Brown.
Peaceful protests, riots, looting and arson attacks erupted overnight after the decision - despite a huge deployment of police and state troopers.
Protesters shot at police, robbed locally-owned stores and set cars and buildings ablaze in what police said was the worst violence since Wilson shot Brown on Aug 9.
In Washington, President Barack Obama made a rapidly-organised televised appearance to appeal for calm, echoing the sentiments of the dead teenager's family.
He said: "I have no sympathy at all for destroying your own communities."
Protest marches have also continued to spread in other US cities including New York and Los Angeles.
