New Face: Celeb stylist Ines Ligron shares tips with finalists
You might think wearing coloured contact lenses would make you stand out and win, but it only serves to make you look like a robot and kill your chances.
This was the advice that Ms Ines Ligron, celebrity stylist and creative director of Dream Factory, gave the 10 The New Paper New Face finalists who attended a coaching session with her on Saturday.
She said: "What can make you different, can be that spark in your eyes."
During the session, the girls had to practise the way they strutted down the runway. They also had to correct their posture, pacing and poses.
Miss Annmarie Pang, 22, was the first to walk the runway. The National University of Singapore graduate was nervous, but felt that the practice walk was helpful as there was a mirror for her to practise with.
BENEFICIAL
Miss Mira Azman, 19, said the session benefited her a lot. She said: "It was practical and beneficial. It is something we need since we have less than a week till the finals."
Miss Amanda Lim, 22, agreed.
She said: "The constructive criticism was useful. It makes you more aware of what to improve on."
Even though the girls were given a 20-minute break during the two-hour session, they used the time to practise in pairs and give each other feedback.
Some used their phones to take videos of the way they walked.
Said Ms Ligron about the girls' performances after the session: "It's impressive that they really picked up (my tips) so quickly. Most of them can walk so well already."
