WATCH: Two guys fool people into thinking they're eating organic chow. Sorry, it's just McDonald's
(Psst, remember to turn on subtitles when watching the video above.)
You've never heard people rave about McDonald's like this before.
"Yes, it definitely tastes fresh," said one man.
"The structure is good. Yes. Not too sticky," said another.
"Rolls around the tongue nicely, if it were wine I'd say it's fine," exclaimed another man.
Why the flowery, over-the-top compliments? Because they didn't know they were munching on McDonald's.
Posh organic food
The food tasters at an annual convention in the Netherlands thought they were dining on posh organic food.
The truth was they were gushing about plain old fast food that had been repackaged.
Embarrassing much.
We wouldn't be caught dead doing that, no matter how partial we are to their burgers.
How does this compare
It got worse. The two men behind the prank asked tasters to compare the food to, well, McDonald's.
"It's definitely a lot tastier than McDonald's, you can just tell this is a lot more pure," says one woman.
"This absolutely has a lot more taste to it than McDonald's," says another woman.
Actually, it's the same thing. In fact, it probably tasted worse because it wasn't that fresh.
Takeaway
The two pranksters uploaded a video of their antics on YouTube on Monday.
Their takeaway from the grand experiment? That if you tell people that something is organic, they'll automatically believe it's organic.
Well, yes, we would too actually.
We thought the point was that people don't hate McDonald's food, they just don't want to be seen as liking the brand.
Or that food that's bad for you tastes oh-so-good. And organic food tastes.. mehhhh. (Which is why people were so surprised.)
Or something deep like that.
Guess not.
