Schooling's 'girlfriend' is brainy and sporty
If you don't already know about Miss Casey Shomaker, you will soon.
She's the lucky 22-year-old girl who allegedly gets to call our golden boy Joseph Schooling her boyfriend.
Schooling's global rise to fame following his stunning Olympic 100m butterfly win on Saturday morning has naturally sparked a thirst for more information on the local star.
And of course, some interesting "girlfriend news" has since come to light, thanks to the Internet.
One of the few things we've found out about Miss Shomaker is that she is one intelligent woman.
Starting with her impressive academic record, several social media platforms state that she is currently pursuing her doctorate in law.
She started off at Boston University before transferring back to The University of Texas this year, where Schooling is studying.
This comes after she completed a degree in biochemistry in last year.
But that's not all she's doing. She works, too.
Her LinkedIn account states that she's currently a legal intern for United Services Automobile Association (USAA), a Texas-based Fortune 500 diversified financial services group.
As part of the job, Miss Shomaker said in her profile that she "assists attorneys in providing legal services such as negotiation, drafting and document creation".
Here comes the clincher: She, too, excels at sports.
Miss Shomaker won a bronze medal in 2010 at the Junior Olympics for volleyball and recently posted pictures online of herself snowboarding.

But one thing's for sure. Just like the rest of Singapore, Miss Shomaker is on #TeamSchooling.
She has been religiously re-tweeting the latest Olympic news concerning Schooling's win.
She also posted a photo of him standing on the podium with American Michael Phelps, South African Chad le Clos and Hungarian Laszlo Cseh on the lower tier and captioned the image: "And thus the kid has become the king."
