Jurong Police Division will have a new commander from Monday.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Wilson Lim Hock Lee, 43, will be stepping down from the position to become the director of both the Public Affairs Department and Community Partnership Department at Police Headquarters.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner (DAC) Koh Wei Keong, 44, who has been with the police for 20 years, will take over as commander of Jurong Police Division.

In the appointment ceremony at Jurong Division Headquarters yesterday evening, AC Lim handed over the 'J' Division Command Sword to guest-of-honour, Commissioner of Police Hoong Wee Teck, who then handed it to DAC Koh as a symbolic gesture of the change in command.

In his farewell speech, AC Lim, a 19-year police veteran, said: "I'm proud to have led a family of passionate, hardworking and highly dedicated officers who have always risen to challenges, especially in this intense year."

He added that his focus for his new roles will be to enhance online police engagement with the community, and to provide timely and accurate information on different communication platforms.

AC Lim also said that he hopes that the police will be a "trusted community partner" and that he wants to deepen police engagement with the community through police-community partnership programmes.
