Video: Teens on bike crash into car
Two male teenagers were injured when the motorised bicycle they were riding crashed into a car in Ang Mo Kio on Saturday afternoon.
The two, aged 16 and 18 years old, were taken to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and have been discharged after treatment, The Straits Times reported.
Dramatic footage of the accident, which was captured by the car's dashboard camera, was put up on the Singapore Reckless Drivers Community Facebook page.
It shows the car turning right into Ang Mo Kio Avenue 9 after the traffic lights had changed in its favour.
The speeding bike, travelling straight along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6, crashes a red light. The collision flings both bike riders onto the car bonnet.
Photos posted on Facebook showed that the front of the car was damaged from the impact.
As of 6pm yesterday, the video had garnered more than 220,000 views and 1,100 comments.
Most of those who commented on the post spoke out in support of the car driver. Some called on the authorities to clamp down on the use of such powered bicycles.
