Man tries to chew off his identity
Desperate to avoid being identified by cops after getting arrested for driving a stolen car, an American man tried to chew off the skin from his fingertips and eat his own flesh.
Kenzo Roberts, 20, was caught on surveillance video in the bizarre act, reported the New York Daily News.
The footage showed him gnawing on his fingers, chewing and then swallowing, as he sat in the backseat of a police car. He also appeared to try and rub them off his hands by running his fingers back and forth against the caged divider in the vehicle.
Roberts had been stopped by Florida county's Sheriff's deputies, who had been looking out for a stolen Mercedes.
FIREARM
The authorities also reportedly found on him a fake identification document, three fake credits cards and a concealed firearm.
Roberts had a tangled history with the law: he was in the US illegally, according to the US Border Patrol, and was wanted in another county for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The fugitive resorted to the finger mutilation in fear of getting into further trouble.
But biometric scanners foiled his efforts and the police managed to identify him despite his mangled skin.
Roberts was charged with three counts of possessing a fake credit card, grand theft auto, possession of a concealed weapon, driving with a suspended licence and giving false identification to a law enforcement officer.
