Girl, 5, trapped in high-speed washing machine
It's a scary tale.
A five-year-old girl has extensive injuries, after she was trapped in a washing machine going at high speed.
It was not exactly clear how the girl in Texas ended up in the washer.
Luckily she survived.
All that was known: She had been stuck in the machine - on a rinse cycle - for several minutes on Tuesday.
Pasedena police said that a woman had just tried to use that same machine in Texas.
She slotted in some coins moments earlier. But the machine didn't work and she told a manager.
After getting a refund, she moved to another machine.
Minutes later, the girl was in the washer being spun around at high speed.
'Something flopping around'
The police said: "She was tumbling pretty fast in there.
"One person walked by and said they saw something flopping around in there. They thought it was just a dress or something because it was moving pretty fast."
Police made no mention of where the girl's parents were.
Vance Mitchell from the police said: "You've got to watch your kids. That's the bottom line. If that was my son or granddaughter, I'd be really upset that I let it happen."
