Man discovers 20 maggots living underneath skin after trip to Africa
A man from Guangzhou found out that he had developed small sores along the right side of his leg after returning from a six-month trip to Africa.
The man, surnamed Ma, starting running a fever two weeks later and decided to visit the dermatologist.
Prior to the fever, he endured the sores which grew painful and itchy.
The clincher
The doctor examined the man's leg and realised that the sores were the breathing tubes of tambu fly maggots beneath his skin.
Ma had to undergo minor surgery where 20 maggots were removed.
