What to take: Spare clothes.
You never know how muddy, sweaty or drenched you may get. I would also definitely take along the Denizen's d.LITE Tees - which is made for sports and outdoor activity and is made from the same material as the "Celebrate SG50 Proud To Be Singaporean" Sports Collection - as it's comfortable and a good memento for keepsake. I collect every year's event tee and this year will be no different.

What to take: Old newspapers
Your shoes will get muddy when you step out of your car during the off-road segment. To prevent the dirtying of your car interior, line the floor with old newspapers. This will make your car much easier to clean as the newspapers will soak up the mud, otherwise it will be difficult to wash off the carpet when it dries.

What to take: Touch N Go card with enough money
Given that the final destination of the Challenge is a mystery, you will not know how far up North you will go. So make sure you top up your Touch N Go card. I put in at least RM200 (S$74) if I am travelling to Kuala Lumpur. This will allow you to breeze through the toll booths without wasting time and energy finding a top-up station.

What to take: Cooler box with drinks
It will be hot and you will need to replenish your water loss. So my family and I take along our trusty cooler box that we load with ice, bottled water, isotonic drinks and soft drinks. Any time we get thirsty, we have a cold drink - very helpful for the long drive.

What to take: Cable ties and duct tape
Off-roading may lead to slight damage to your car, especially the bumper. One year, I accidentally hit someone's rear bumper and it came off. Thankfully, we managed to secure it back temporarily using duct tape and cable ties.
