Meet the new Spider-Man: Tom Holland
There's a new web-slinger in town and his name is Tom Holland.
Last seen in the tsunami drama The Impossible as Naomi Watts' courageous son, Brit actor Holland won the coveted role after a long and tedious search.
According to Variety, the film-makers couldn't decide if the new Peter Parker, last played on screen by Andrew Garfield, was to be a teen or someone a little older yet could still pull off being a teen for the next few years.
After an exhausting search among both known and unknown young actors, Holland, 19, was picked over others such as Asa Butterfield, Charlie Rowe and Matthew Lintz.
Spidey will have a cameo in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War before he swings into his own movie in 2017.
Meanwhile, Holland seems to be practicing some Spidey moves on his own.
Holland will be on the big screen in the year-end epic In The Heart Of The Sea, starring Chris Hemsworth.
