Sergio Ramos ridiculed online for ridiculous dive
In football, there are the really sneaky divers who don't get caught, the divers whom everyone knows are diving – and then, there's Sergio Ramos.
The Real Madrid defender took the dark art of the Beautiful Game to a hilarious new low during his side's Champions League 4-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk at the Bernabeu.
With his side up 1-0, the Spanish defender sought to win a penalty in the 33rd minute by acrobatically launching himself into a belly flop.
Fortunately for Shakhtar, the referee saw through Ramos' ridiculous set-piece theatrics and waved away the Real captain's desperate appeals for a spot-kick.
It didn't take long for the scorn to start pouring out on Twitter.
To add injury to insult, Ramos had to be subbed off moments later after dislocating his shoulder during his pathetic attempt at being a stuntman.
Even though the 29-year-old tried to stay positive by posting a smiley photo of himself on Twitter, it didn't stop his followers from trolling him as well.
