Fan tries to distract striker during penalty, with his belly
Football fans are a creative lot.
When it comes to distracting a rival team player from scoring, they stop at nothing.
So, when Celtic’s Leigh Griffiths stepped up to take a penalty against Aberdeen at Pittodrie Stadium on Saturday, one Aberdeen unleashed the ultimate weapon of mass distraction — his impressive-looking, gigantic belly.
But Griffiths, too, rose to the occasion.
Even as the blubber rippled across the contours of the fat fan’s torso, the Celtic striker kept his cool to convert from the spot and give his team the lead.
However, Griffiths won the battle but not the war.
The hosts fought back through Paul Quinn and Adam Rooney to win 2-1, and stretched their 100 per cent record to six games.
