Conte quits Juve, but was it over Vidal?
Juventus head coach Antonio Conte has left the club.
Despite leading the Turin giants to a hat-trick of Serie A titles, the 44-year-old told the club's official website that he felt "it may be more difficult to keep winning with Juventus".
While he previously indicated that he could leave the club if they did not strengthen to mount a serious challenge for the Champions League title, Conte's shock decision is believed to have been fuelled by Juventus' willingness to sell Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal to Manchester United, despite Juve chief executive Giuseppe Marotta's claims to the contrary.
Juve have been quick to find a replacement for Conte in former AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri, who has been handed a two-year deal.
Allegri was sacked by the Rossoneri mid-way through last season after a disastrous start to their league campaign.
Singaporeans will be among the first to catch Allegri's Juventus when the Bianconeri come to Singapore to play a Singapore Selection at the Singapore Sports Hub on Aug 16.
As for Conte, the former Juventus player is now a favourite to take over the Italian national team from Cesare Prandelli, who resigned from his post after Italy failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the World Cup in Brazil.
