JLaw is again world’s highest-paid actress
US actress Jennifer Lawrence is the highest-paid actress in the world, according to Forbes.
The 26-year-old managed to earn an impressive US$46 million (S$62.2 million) the past year due to the box office success of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, which grossed US$653.4 million at the US box office.
She also received a pay advance for her upcoming sci-fi film Passengers.
This is the second time Lawrence has topped Forbes' world's highest-paid actresses list.
In second and third place are US actresses Melissa McCarthy, 45, and Scarlett Johansson, 31, respectively.
Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, 34, is in fifth place. She is the only Asian actress in the top 10.
However, the highest-paid celebrity this year is Taylor Swift, 26, who brought in US$200 million.
Elba trains to be pro fighter for TV show
English actor Idris Elba is training to become a professional kickboxer.
On Tuesday, the 43-year-old announced that he will document a year in his kickboxing training journey across Britain, Cuba, Japan, South Africa and Thailand, in a new TV docu-series titled Idris Elba: Fighter.
He will be mentored by former world champions, trainers and coaches.
The Thor: The Dark World star spent much of his early career training in kickboxing for fitness but has never fought professionally.
He said in a statement: "It has been a lifelong ambition of mine to fight professionally. Entering the ring to further test myself as a human being is a challenge I have been looking to take on for quite some time."
The show will be aired next year.
Nick Cannon is a university freshman
US actor Nick Cannon, 35, has gone back to school.
The America's Got Talent host has started his freshman year at Howard University's communications school in Washington D.C.
He posted a photo of himself in front of a university sign on Instagram and rapped about the university in a video posted on Facebook.
The actor told ET Online: "...I look forward to this new journey in my life and am excited about the possibilities ahead."
Cannon will be continuing his ninth season as host of America's Got Talent and will split his time between hosting duties and attending classes.
Other celebrities have also attended the school, such as rapper Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy, and Empire star Taraji P. Henson
