Movie Review: Death Note: Light Up The New World (PG)
After two Death Note movies, why make another one?
Death Note (2006) and Death Note 2: The Last Name (2006) were great.
Ten years after the events of the previous films, investigator Tsukuru Mishima (Masahiro Higashide) is the leader of the Death Note Task Force team.
Together with fellow detective Ryuzaki (Sousuke Ikematsu), they race against time to find the remaining six Death Note users, left behind by the Shinigami (God of Death) to wreck havoc in Tokyo.
Light Yagami (Tatsuya Fujiwara) returns as a cyber-terrorist.
The film is just a wild goose chase with a predictable plot, which is quite disappointing, save for the occasional humour and surprise visits from different Shinigami.
Despite that, the movie delivered on its screen direction, special effects and acting.
