These apps have had a Christmas facelift
Just as Orchard Road gets its annual tinsel overhaul, the digital stratosphere is also seeing its fair share of Christmas cheer as well.
These mobile applications — games, messaging apps and the like — have jumped on the festive bandwagon.
Pokémon Go
The second generation of Pokémon — that much of the smartphone-using world is probably a bit tired of waiting for — has just been released, albeit in a series of updates.
This goes further than October's Halloween theme which just made the vaguely scarier critters more prominent.
For Christmas period, there's a variation of the all time favourite Pikachu adorned with a Santa hat.
Until there's a major update this may be for completists only .
Niantic's Yule groove continues until noon on Dec 29 December.
LINE
For a festive touch, sending seasonal wishes over this messaging app will set your screen snowing.
There's also the option of making your greetings jolly and bright with a sticker or with the newest Play feature on Line's story creating app, B612.
Be spoilt for choice with the Christmas sticker selection running the gamut from cartoons like Snoopy to hilarious memes.
Snapchat and Snow
If you've been the bee and done the dog, it's the right time to check out how you look as Rudolph. Snapchat has stepped in to fill that desire with a reindeer lense.
With Christmas rapidly creeping up, the sticker and lense options just keep growing.
We're just left with waiting for the geo-filters to come flood us on d-day itself now.
Similar to Snapchat, Snow has the filters to get you in the mood.
The image messaging app allows you to send pictures to your select audience while offering you a whole range of Christmas filters.
Try being a snowbunny, a gingerbread man or Christmas tree.
Christmas Doodle Jump
Boasting 15 million downloads in their first 3 years of release, it would seem that guiding your character up seemingly endless platforms is a recipe for platforming video game success.
The festive edition allows you to jump through obstacles... With the iconic Santa hat perched atop your Doodler's head.
Elf Yourself
Now, to really spread the joy.
Dress up as an elf (virtually) and dance into your friend's inbox.
There's also the option to make it a group activity by getting friends to join in the party and jingle rock to the beat.
Disney Tsum Tsum
The House of Mouse are masters of marketing.
Many phone gamers will be familiar with — or have been addicted to — Tsum Tsum.
Their in-game event, the Jigsaw Puzzle, is their way of chiming in to join the end of year fun.
Also making an appearance are Steamboat Mickey, Steamboat Minnie and Steamboat Pete — characters based on the original short film Mickey first appeared in — to provide extra help for the event.
