Watch: Air NZ's epic safety video has hobbits, elves and, of course, the One Ring

What do you get when you mix Middle-earth with airline safety? Only the most epic safety video ever.

Air New Zealand, the official airline of Middle-earth, posted a safety video featuring Elijah Wood, Sir Peter Jackson and Sylvester McCoy on YouTube on Wednesday.

It presents the ho-hum, sleep-inducing pre take-off instructions in a totally bizarre, nonsensical manner.

Don't get us wrong, we love it.

Learn how to put on your seatbelt from a man riding a horse.

Learn not to panic from an orc with an oxygen mask.

Learn how to inflate your life jacket from a man who went bungee jumping to retrieve the One Ring.

Learn where the nearest exits are from men with flaming torches.

In short, this video is crazy.

It makes even the annoying "brace brace" instructions sound like music to our ears.

This is one safety video we definitely wouldn't sleep through.

The video was made to celebrate the final film in The Hobbit trilogy - The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, which is due to be released at the end of the year.
