Watch how scientists capture sound - with a camera

You might want to be careful about what you say in the future - someone could be listening to your conversation via a harmless looking piece of trash on the floor.

A bunch of scientists from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Microsoft and Adobe have been putting their brilliant minds together to create a visual microphone - a device which visually picks up sound.

Through their research, they have figured out how to extract sound simply by figuring out the minute vibrations from ambient objects using high-speed cameras.

One of their experiments involved deciphering the voice of someone reciting Mary Had A Little Lamb by recording a bag of potato chips from a room made of sound-proof glass - and the results have been quite amazing.
