Biker Boy tells you more about our Full Throttle giveaways
In our recent Full Throttle motorcycle supplement, we promised to reward our readers.
Well, here it is. Almost $22,000 worth of prizes, including Harley-Davidson's Street 750, will be given away.
Up for grabs this week are three prizes. Each prize includes one Curve Prestige 100 action camera plus Ipone's chain cleaner and lube with a value of $280.
But before we hand these prizes to you, we tested them.
CURVE PRESTIGE 100 ACTION CAMERA
It's so incredibly small that the 80g camera fits into your palm.
An LCD screen at the rear of the camera lets you confirm your settings and the images you've taken.
Even with its plastic waterproof shell (above), the HD camera feels small without being intrusive when mounted on my dirt bike.
On a cloudy and wet day, the Curve survived getting pelted with sand and muddy water on the dirt track.
I had expected the handle bar mount accessory to flop given the massive vibration from my bike's engine. But it held fine.
Despite falling down face-first twice, my helmet-mounted Curve camera was still recording.
This is a simple recording device which can be operated easily via its three function buttons, even with muddy gloved hands.
Strangely, it attracts more wind noise when the camera is pointing towards the rear.
Overall, the Curve is a rugged camera that you can stash in your bum bag and attaches easily onto your bike parts when the action begins.
If you want to know more about Curve products, visit Comex 2015 from Sept 3 to Sept 6. Staff at booth 6441 will be able to answer your questions.
IPONE CHAIN CLEANER AND LUBE
The grinding sound of your sand-encrusted chain is a painful reminder that those O-rings need some loving after your fun on the dirt track.
Ipone seems to have the solution with its effective two-stage cleaning process.
With the rear wheel lifted, spin your wheel and spray on the cleaner at the same time.
The cleaner's nozzle, which is brilliantly fitted with a brush, allows you to get rid of the grit. Like magic, tiny bits of sand and larger chunks of mud just fall off.
The great thing about the cleaner is that it's formulated to be less harsh on your chain's rubber O-rings. It also coats a layer of protection as it cleans.
Finally, spray on the chain lube. You know your chain is clean and properly lubricated when your wheel spins freely without that grinding sound.
