JLaw going for laughs with Amy
Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer take BFF status further by writing a comedy together
While many of her roles play to the serious, Jennifer Lawrence has often provided the laughs on the interview circuit.
Now she is finally doing a comedy.
The Oscar-winner revealed to New York Times that she's co-writing a comedy with her new BFF and the US' hottest comedian, Amy Schumer.
“We play sisters,” said Lawrence, 25.
“We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now.”
The Hunger Games star shared that while she became pals with Schumer, 34, a couple of months ago after watching Schumer's hit comedy Trainwreck, they "are creatively made for each other".
“I emailed her after I saw Trainwreck’ and said, ‘I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you,’” Lawrence recalled.
“We started emailing, and then emailing turned to texting.”
The ladies clicked immediately and in early August, Schumer invited Lawrence to join her for her vacation in the Hamptons.
The posts of human pyramids and jetski jaunts went viral.
“We really hit it off, to say the least,” Lawrence said.
Indeed, according to the actress, writing the script with Schumer "has been the most fun experience of my life".
"We start the day off on the phone, laughing and then we send each other pages. And we crack up."
Joining the duo on writing duty is Schumer's sister Kim, who helped Schumer craft Trainwreck.
With Lawrence is one of Hollywood's goofiest and most quotable actresses, and together with Schumer, who's the current comedy hot favourite, this is one pairing that will certainly rock the world.
